A Few Words for a Tuesday

Life is always surprising me.
Sometimes, they are good surprises.
Sometimes, they are painful surprises.

That’s life.

But the more I think about it, the more I feel like surprises do not have to exist. What do I mean by that? We all have control of our lives. We make choices. We plan. We do the things we do for a reason.

Sometimes, these choices haunt us. And sometimes, they lead us to where we belong.

I’d like to live my life knowing exactly what is best for me, and making choices to ensure that occurs.

Teenage years and college years are socially deemed as the time to “find yourself”, yet I’m 31 and still figuring all of that out.

On that note, how do you ever “find” yourself if you are constantly changing?
I’ve changed significantly in the last decade… the last five years… even the last two years!

I like to believe I am someone who follows my head and uses logic to determine my future. Every action has a consequence, every investment has a return, etc. Life should be orderly, tidy, and structured.

But the older I get, the more I realize that what is in the heart is more important than anything else.

You can’t rationalize everything in life, and that’s beautiful.
