Good-Looking People with Great Smiles- Survivor 32 Recap & Rankings Episode 3

What we learned during Episode 3:

  • You never want to lose the challenge; and if you do, don’t think of it as a blessing
  • Even people with great smiles get voted out in blindside fashion
  • Debbie is being underestimated
  • Joe’s tan, pecs, and abs are thriving in the Cambodia sun
  • Kyle was put in charge of the Brawn tribe, apparently
  • The Beauty tribe is easily the best, but it appears a med-evac is going to disrupt that harmony very, very soon

Episode 3 is in the books and it was awesome. I was so concerned that 32 would be a snoozer after the excitement that Cambodia packed, but Kaoh Rong hasn’t disappointed! BBB may be the winning formula of Survivor after all!

Last week I thought we were seeing a possible winner’s edit with either Liz or Peter- but oh… how wrong I was. Both Liz and Peter came off as inflexible and arrogant this episode, and now Liz is gone and Peter is on the bottom. I’m not sure what sort of gameplay they were attempting, but clearly it was the wrong choice. Who is going to lead the Brain tribe, now? (*Raises hand and votes Debbie ;-)*)

Let’s get to the rankings!

* I don’t read spoilers

Pre-Merge Boot Order:

1. Darnell Hamilton (To Tangsvr32_cast_800x1000_darnellhamilton

2. Jennifer Lanzetti (To Tangsvr32_cast_800x1000_jenniferlanzetti

3. Liz Markham (Chan Loh)     svr32_cast_800x1000_elisabethmarkham

Liz was a promising player but unfortunately she seemed to get caught up in being a ‘brain’. She over-strategized, became too confident, and aligned with someone who was making the exact same mistakes as her. It is always hard to tell from the production edit, but I wasn’t sad to see Liz go- especially after she admitted in confessional that losing the challenge might be a ‘blessing in disguise’. Sadly, Liz, you sealed your own fate. Ta-ta!

To Tang Tribe Rankings (Brawn)

4. Alecia Holden svr32_cast_800x1000_aleciaholden

Alecia is holding strong at last place Brawn. I can’t comprehend why Alecia shared her idol clue with Cydney when she has clearly been on the bottom the entire game. Don’t trust anyone! Inevitably, she lost her chance at the idol and will surely be the first to go if To Tang goes to Tribal before a tribe swap. It is obvious that this is Kyle’s tribe and whatever he wants is going to happen.

3. Cydney Gillon svr32_cast_800x1000_cydneygillon

Cydney is loyal to the guys, but trying to play both sides. This seems to be working out for her as both sides apparently trust her. I would want to play the game exactly how Cydney is playing- she is sitting pretty.

2. Scot Pollard svr32_cast_800x1000_scotpollard

Scot may be on top in his alliance with Kyle, but he isn’t as powerful as Kyle who actually has the idol and made sure to keep thie idol in his hands at all times. Scot didn’t even get to touch the idol, and even though he believes that Kyle would play it for him, that surely isn’t going to happen. Scot is way too trusting and needs to be a little more cautious and ruthless if he wants to get far in the game.

1. Kyle Jason svr32_cast_800x1000_kylejason

Kyle knows exactly what he is doing, all his moves are calculated and strategic, and he is here to win. Now, with a potential super idol in his posession, I can’t see much knocking him down. Maybe a tribe swap?

Chan Loh Tribe Rankings (Brains)

5. Aubry Bracco svr32_cast_800x1000_aubrybraco

Aubry is on the side of the numbers, but her position in the tribe isn’t super secure. She won’t necessarily be the next vote, but her chances of winning the game appear to be very slim. That being said, I like Aubry and if she sticks close to Debbie and Neal she may be able to survive longer than I originally anticipated.

4. Joseph Del Campo svr32_cast_800x1000_josephdelcampo

Joe is plugging along, doing his exercises, pulling his weight, and hasn’t gotten voted out. He is doing just fine…!

3. Peter Baggenstos svr32_cast_800x1000_peterbaggenstos

Peter lost his closest ally this episode, confessed too much at tribal, and is disliked around the board. But- his fate isn’t sealed yet. Peter is an asset in challenges and being disliked may keep him around longer than before. Maybe Peter will become the GOAT that him and Liz were so desperate to have…

2. Debbie Wanner svr32_cast_800x1000_debbiewanner

Watch out for Debbie! It is obvious that she is simply playing up her Coach-like crazy and demonstrated this episode that she is very intelligent and won’t be a soldier to anyone (or a care-taker to anyone ;)). Debbie did an excellent job keeping her cool at tribal, told Liz exactly what she wanted to hear, and orchestrated a beautiful blindside. Debbie should not be underestimated.

1. Neal Gottlieb svr32_cast_800x1000_nealgottlieb

Neal still creeps me out, but he is my top brain for the week. He has the numbers, he appears to be liked by his tribe, and he is also very good at staying unemotional and strategic. He may be a snake in ice cream pants, but that is  good thing in Survivor, right?

Gondol Tribe Rankins (Beauty)

6. Nick Maiorano svr32_cast_800x1000_nickmaiorano

Nick is surely on the bottom of his tribe. The girls are tightly aligned and they have chose Caleb as the man they want on their side. Nick is cold and arrogant and without a tribe swap, he won’t last long.

5. Julia Sokolowski svr32_cast_800x1000_juliasokolowski

Everyone is happy on the beauty tribe. Julia is a beast in challenges, but could she possibly be the med-evac next week?

4. Michele Fitzgerald svr32_cast_800x1000_michelefitzgerald

Michele appears more and more strategic each week. The lack of time we have had with the beauty tribe makes it difficult to have more of an analysis for Michele.

3. Tai Trang svr32_cast_800x1000_taitrang

Tai is likable, on a winning tribe, and in posession of a potential super idol. I  would be shocked if Tai didn’t make the merge and beyond.

2. Caleb Reynolds svr32_cast_800x1000_calebreynolds

The girls like the BMC and the girls are in power. So Caleb is also in power.

1. Anna Khait svr32_cast_800x1000_annakhait

I am ranking Anna first but this entire tribe, minus Nick, could be first…

Winner Pick

Kyle Jason. Based on how ruthless he is, I still think he will do anything to win this game.
